Below are the Corporate Documents of the National Federation which will give you a sense of our purpose and how we are organized. NFHS is chartered as a 501-C-4 social welfare organization as defined by the Internal Revenue Service.
The Federation was founded in April of 2006 with founding members; Wisconsin Humane Society, The Humane Society of the United States, Boston Animal Rescue League and the Cleveland Animal Protective League. At founding, the Initial Board of the Federation consisted of: Victoria Wellens, President; Nicholas Gilman, Secretary; Dori Villalon, Treasurer; and Wayne Pacelle.
