VALUES

Integrity

We pursue our mission with honor, fairness and respect for animals, individuals and organizations, mindful that there is no right way to do the wrong thing. We are committed to act in good faith, to comply with the rule of law and the policies established by our members and our own conscience.

Dedication

The Federation is dedicated to uphold the mission and goals established for our members. We hold ourselves to standards that will enable us to remain a respected and trustworthy organization. We are committed to discovery and continuous improvement in developing and implementing our services.

Sensitivities

We value Federation employees, members, volunteers, stakeholders and treat them with respect. We operate in a climate of openness and trust in which each of us fully grants others respect and cooperation. The Federation will set an example for maintaining a collegial environment that promotes debate and divergent viewpoints.

Vision

In an effort to support our mission, we are willing to take prudent risks. We strive to be proactive, innovative creative and inclusive.

CODE OF ETHICS

The Federation leadership will:

  • Be honest and ethical in their conduct, including their handling of actual or apparent conflicts of interest between personal and professional relationships.
  • Comply with applicable government laws, rules and regulations.
  • Deal fairly with members, suppliers, competitors, volunteers and employees.
  • Proactively promote ethical behavior as a responsible member of the humane community and uphold ethical standards among peers and within decision making groups, avoiding personality conflicts and cliques that disrupt the unity of the group and the environment of trust and respect.
  • Strive for member satisfaction and enthusiasm by dedicating ourselves to anticipating the changing needs of members and our movement and to provide timely, innovative responses.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Employees and volunteers should avoid any activity, investment or decision that might reflect unfavorably on themselves and the reputation of the Federation.

As representatives of the Federation, employees and volunteers are obligated to place the interest of the Federation in any transaction involving the Federation ahead of any personal interest or personal gain, and to disclose all facts in any situation where a potential conflict of interest may arise. Members operating in leadership positions for the Federation remain dedicated to the success and best possible outcome for the Federation

Employees and volunteers are expected to seek clarification and discuss any questions about potential conflict of interest with the person/s designated by the Federation Board of Directors.
