The animal protection/welfare movement has not had a true federation or similar institution that works for the collective interests of our cause and that binds us together. There are billions of dollars donated to animal causes, principally to thousands of humane societies and other local organizations, but no enduring organization has formed to serve our broader interests. The Federation was created to be just such an institution, created to help organize our community and work to advance our larger objectives.

The members truly believe this federation for the animal welfare community will have tremendous potential to improve animal sheltering and make a real difference in the lives of companion animals.
